Meat of the Issue: Vegan Victory Bike Ride

Does delicious food and a chance to show off your fixie sound like the perfect afternoon?
If so, be sure to pencil in “attend Vegan Victory Bike Ride” on Sunday 5th February into your recycled-paper event planner.

Beginning at the Abbotsford Convent Lentil As Anything at 11am, you’ll be given the opportunity to stomach-line with a tasty morning tea. But you better wear stretchy pants, the bike party will be continuing to four other restaurants, plus The Radical Grocery Store (including a sweet discount on purchases). Along the way, you’ll be regaled by guest speakers and filled with vegan beer.

The expedition will finish at CERES by the Merri Creek in East Brunswick, where you have the chance to rest your weary calf muscles and kick back to a musical celebration involving Marisa Quigley, Vodnik, JDub and DD. Or if, after all that riding and imbibing, you still have the ability to stand up straight and you want to flaunt your vegan health powers, there will also be a belly-dancing workshop by Amulya.

Tickets are $50 per person. If you just responded: “Hmmph, well I can just eat my housemate’s lentils at home for free”, note that 100% of proceeds go to charities, a delicious goody bag is provided, AND, they’ll be Mr. Nice Guy cupcakes for every rider. Sealed the deal? Thought so.
