Costco UK return policy
Costco UK's satisfaction guarantee lets you return most things with no set time limit. The big exception: electronics and major appliances must go back within 90 days. In return, Costco extends the warranty on TVs to 5 years and on computers, white goods and cameras to 2 years.

The 90-day items
These must be returned within 90 days of the day you received them:
- Consumer electronics, TVs, projectors and monitors
- Computers and tablets
- Major appliances
- Cameras, smart watches and fitness trackers
- Games consoles and MP3 players
- Mobile phones (details depend on the network contract)
Small kitchen worktop appliances, like toasters and kettles, aren't on the 90-day list. Before returning anything that stores data, delete your information and accounts from it; Costco says it isn't responsible for anything left on the device.
What you can't return
- Precious metals: gold bars, silver bars and gold coins.
- Gift cards, tickets and experience day vouchers.
- Cigarettes and alcohol, where the law doesn't allow it.
- Special order, custom and installed items, though your legal rights still apply if they're faulty or not as described.
Jewellery: refunds take 7 to 10 days while a Costco gemologist checks the item. Diamonds over 1 carat must come back with their IGI or GIA certificates. Items with a limited useful life and their own warranty may get a prorated refund.
Costco UK's extended warranty
On top of the 90-day returns, Costco extends the manufacturer's warranty from the date of purchase:
- TVs: 5 years.
- 2 years: computers (including tablets), monitors, major appliances and white goods, cameras (not action or aerial cameras) and camcorders.
- Projectors: Costco's pages disagree; one says 2 years and another 5, so ask before you rely on it.
Costco's warranty doesn't cover products used in a commercial premises unless stated. Its technical support line is 0800 066 5091.
Returning an online order
- Costco's guarantee applies to Costco.co.uk orders too. Start the return from your order on Costco.co.uk.
- Your legal right to cancel: under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you can also cancel an online order within 14 days of receiving the goods, without a reason. It doesn't cover personalised items, food, flowers or anything that goes off quickly, unsealed software or recordings, or underwear and swimwear with the hygiene seal removed.
- Refunds: within a week of Costco receiving and checking the goods, to the original payment method where possible. Your bank can take another 5 to 10 working days to show it. If you used a promotional voucher, its value is taken off the refund.
Common questions
Is there a time limit on Costco UK returns?
Not for most items. Costco says returns are reviewed case by case and a manager can approve or refuse one. Electronics and major appliances have a 90-day limit.
Can I return something without a receipt?
Costco's UK terms don't set a receipt rule, and every return is a manager's decision. Bring the receipt if you have it, and your membership card: only cardholders can make returns.
Can I return my membership?
Yes. Costco will cancel and refund your membership fee in full at any time if you're not satisfied. If you bought it in a warehouse, ask at your warehouse's membership desk. For Executive members, any reward issued or earned is taken off the refund.
Does Costco UK price match?
Only against its own prices. If something you bought drops in price within 30 days, during the promotion and while it's in stock, ask at the membership counter of the warehouse where you bought it. Costco.co.uk gives a credit for online orders. Costco doesn't match other shops, or online against warehouse prices.
