Wales follows England. There's no Costco in Northern Ireland. The Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and bank holiday hours are the same for Gold Star, Business and Executive members. On the ordinary weekdays in between, Business and Executive members still get in earlier, from 10am at most warehouses (see Executive hours by warehouse).
Why is Boxing Day closed when the bank holiday is open?
Costco closes on the calendar days: Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day, wherever they fall in the week. In 2026, Boxing Day is Saturday 26 December 2026, so Costco is closed that Saturday. The bank holiday moves to the following Monday, and Costco opens that day with its usual bank holiday hours, 10am to 6pm. Scotland's 2 January works the same way: the warehouse is closed on Saturday 2 January 2027, and the substitute bank holiday after it is a 10am to 6pm day.
Late-night shopping before Christmas?
As of 23 October 2026, no UK warehouse had posted extended or different December hours on costco.co.uk. If Costco adds late-night shopping before Christmas, it shows on each warehouse's page, and we'll add it here.
Costco petrol stations over Christmas
Costco's petrol notes give the same rules at all 22 stations: closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day, and closing at 5pm on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. On bank holidays each station keeps its own bank holiday hours, which start earlier than the warehouse. The notes don't mention 2 January, so check a Scottish station's page before you go that day. See every petrol station and its hours.
