When you buy tyres from Costco UK, fitting is included at no charge, along with balancing, rotation, nitrogen inflation, pressure checks, a new rubber valve and disposal of your old tyres. All 29 UK warehouses have a tyre centre, open the same hours as the warehouse. A puncture repair costs £14.98.

What's included when Costco fits your tyres
Costco UK's tyre pages say a tyre purchase includes installation at no charge, and list what that covers:
- Mounting and balancing
- Rotation
- Nitrogen tyre inflation
- All tyres pressure checked
- New rubber valve stem. Specialised valve stems and TPMS (tyre pressure sensor) parts can cost extra.
- Environmental tyre disposal of the old tyres
The work is done by City & Guilds certified tyre technicians. It only applies to tyres bought from Costco: tyre centres don't fit tyres bought elsewhere.
Puncture repairs
Costco UK charges £14.98 per repair (including VAT) at its tyre centres. That covers a new standard valve and wheel balancing; a TPMS valve isn't included. A technician checks first that the tyre is safe to repair.
Is there a road hazard warranty? Not that Costco UK publishes. Costco's U.S. and Canadian tyre centres include free puncture repairs and a 5-year road hazard warranty. Costco UK's own pages list neither, and quote a price for puncture repairs instead. If cover for damage matters to you, ask your tyre centre before you buy.
Who can buy tyres at Costco UK?
Tyres are for warehouse members: Gold Star, Business and Executive. Costco says online-only members need to upgrade to a Gold Star or Business membership to buy them (see Costco UK membership). Costco won't work on tyres bought by non-members, and the member has to be there before fitting starts.
How to buy and book a fitting
- In the warehouse: go to the tyre centre, or phone it first (numbers below) to check your size is in stock and arrange a time.
- On costco.co.uk: search by registration or tyre size, pick the warehouse to fit them and a preferred date. The tyres are shipped to that warehouse, and its tyre bay contacts you to confirm they've arrived and arrange a time. Costco says the dates you pick can't be guaranteed.
- Tyres bought online have to be fitted. Costco won't supply them unfitted.
Costco's tyre fitting rules
From Costco UK's tyre installation terms:
- Only fitments approved for your vehicle. The speed rating and load capacity must be the same as, or higher than, the tyres your car came with from the factory. The tyre centre manager makes the final decision.
- Buying only two? New tyres go on the rear axle. Costco won't fit just two new tyres on the front, even if you offer to sign a waiver.
- 4x4 and all-wheel drive: Costco recommends full sets. With fewer than four, all four tyres must match in size, profile, load index and speed rating, with no more than 4mm difference in tread depth between old and new.
- Winter tyres are fitted only in sets of four (six on a vehicle with twin rear wheels).
Tyre centre hours
Costco's store data gives every tyre centre the same note: see the warehouse opening hours. So tyre centres open when your warehouse opens, which is earlier on weekdays for Business and Executive members. See Costco UK opening hours for your warehouse, including Executive hours and bank holidays. Christmas and New Year dates are on Costco UK Christmas opening hours.

Common questions
Does Costco UK charge for fitting tyres?
No. Fitting is included when you buy the tyres from Costco, along with balancing, rotation, nitrogen, pressure checks, a new rubber valve and disposal of the old tyres.
How much is a puncture repair at Costco UK?
£14.98 per repair, including VAT, a new standard valve and balancing, if the technician finds the tyre safe to repair.
Does Costco UK have a road hazard warranty?
Costco UK doesn't publish one. The 5-year road hazard warranty you may read about is offered in the U.S. and Canada.
Will Costco fit tyres I bought somewhere else?
No. Costco only fits tyres bought from Costco, and tyres bought online must be fitted at a Costco tyre centre.
Do I need a membership to buy tyres?
Yes, a warehouse membership: Gold Star, Business or Executive. An online-only membership isn't enough.
Can I book a tyre fitting online?
When you buy on costco.co.uk you choose the warehouse and a preferred fitting date, and the tyre bay calls to confirm a time. For tyres bought in the warehouse, phone or visit the tyre centre.
Why does Costco put new tyres on the back?
Costco's policy, which it says follows the major tyre makers, is that when only two tyres are replaced the new ones go on the rear, because new tyres on the front only can make the car unstable and prone to oversteer.
